I know I haven't been around to post or comment in awhile.
I'm slowly getting back in to the swing of things. The past four months have not been easy on me. I still miss him terribly and my heart still hurts because I still love him.
Lisa, if you read this, pop me an email, I didn't realize until today that I couldn't find your email address.
Hope everyone had a wonderful christmas and new years and is doing well.
just a short post to let you all know that yes, i am still alive.
i have a lot of things i'm dealing with right now and haven't really got online lately.
i read this on another blog I read.. couldn't help but post it.
Believe it or not, this is a true story. (Snopes) I thought it was beautiful, and wanted to share.
“This is one of the kindest things I’ve ever experienced. I have no way to know who sent it, but there is a kind soul working in the dead letter office of the US postal service.
Our 14 year old dog, Abbey, died last month. The day after she died, my 4 year old daughter Meredith was crying and talking about how much she missed Abbey. She asked if we could write a letter to God so that when Abbey got to heaven, God would recognize her. I told her that I thought we could so she dictated these words:
Dear God,
Will you please take care of my dog? She died yesterday and is with you in heaven. I miss her very much. I am happy that you let me have her as my dog even though she got sick. I hope you will play with her. She likes to play with balls and to swim. I am sending a picture of her so when you see her you will know that she is my dog. I really miss her.
Love, Meredith.
We put the letter in an envelope with a picture of Abbey and Meredith and addressed it to God/Heaven. We put our return address on it. Then Meredith pasted several stamps on the front of the envelope because she said it would take lots of stamps to get the letter all the way to heaven. That afternoon she dropped it into the letter box at the post office. A few days later, she asked if God had gotten the letter yet. I told her that I thought He had.
Yesterday, there was a package wrapped in gold paper on our front porch addressed, ‘To Meredith’ in an unfamiliar hand. Meredith opened it. Inside was a book by Mr. Rogers called, ‘When a Pet Dies.’ Taped to the inside front cover was the letter we had written to God in its opened envelope. On the opposite page was the picture of Abbey & Meredith and this note:
Dear Meredith,
Abbey arrived safely in heaven. Having the picture was a big help. I recognized Abbey right away. Abbey isn’t sick anymore. Her spirit is here with me just like it stays in your heart. Abbey loved being your dog. Since we don’t need our bodies in heaven, I don’t have any pockets to keep your picture in, so I am sending it back to you in this little book for you to keep and have something to remember Abbey by.
Thank you for the beautiful letter and thank your mother for helping you write it and sending it to me. What a wonderful mother you have. I picked her especially for you. I send my blessings every day and remember that I love you very much.
By the way, I am wherever there is love.
Love, God“
I started a new blog where I'll be listing digital scrapbook freebies that I find listed using google reader on blogs I have subscribed to.
I'm over at my boyfriend's Mom's house right now using her wireless connection to post this. I got sent home from work early today because I was sick, so I'm hanging out over here 'til my boyfriend gets off work so hopefully I can talk to him for awhile because we're having some problems right now. Not sure what's going to happen, but I'm really hoping that things are going to work out for the best because I don't want to lose him.
Anyway, my laptop is messed up right now. We had a power surge last week when we had a really bad thunderstorm and it fried the port that the internet was plugged into which is going to cost $200-$300 to fix I guess if I take it somewhere, so I am trying to figure out the whole wireless router thing to use at my Dad's house until we find out something from the Homeowner's Insurance on if they will pay to fix our computers or not since it should be covered by the insurance. I can use my Dad's computer until I can figure out how to get online with my computer until then.
So if I don't comment much on entries or make many posts that's why, just so you all know that I didn't drop off the face of the earth.
As promised, here a few pictures of the Pup! I just HAD to capture this, the way he was sleeping really had me laughing! He is such a cute little guy though :) I'm really getting attached to the little guy, which I shouldn't be because I already have three dogs so I probably can't keep him :( His eyes are open now too! I noticed it Thursday night when I got home from work.
Today was ball-day again, so I was up early [7AM!] and out the door by 8 to go over to the Lake for the boyfriend's softball games. I remembered my sunscreen this time, but somehow still ended up with a slightly pinkish forehead & nose [and yes, I did apply suncreen there!] Either way though, it's not real bad at least. The boyfriend's team lost the first game, but since it was double elimination they had a game-break until 2PM, so we headed uptown to Lakeview to check out the Classic Car Show they were having, and so the boyfriend & some of his buddies could get into a Cornhole tournament. Then we hit up DQ for some food, then back to the ball-park. Ended up being there until almost 8PM when they lost the final game they'd play for the day. It wasn't really all that bad hanging out around up there since I knew a few people up there, and eventually found myself a nice shady spot under a tree to sit under in one of our chairs, and ended up finishing reading a book I'd brought along while he was playing. The book I read was called Ever After by Karen Kingsbury. Now, I'm not usually much into reading Christian-related books, but this book I could NOT put down. I was literally crying by the time I'd finished the book. I don't think a book has ever made me cry before, but this one definantly brought tears to my eyes. If you like reading, you should check it out. My mom suggested it to me, and I didn't figure I would be very interested in it it but I could not put it down!
Tomorrow [Sunday] is going to be lazy day for us. We're going to lay around & watch movies, maybe go fishing tomorrow evening, but we'll see. We were wanting to get up and go with his parents to Michigan tomorrow to go fishing but that would mean I'd have to be up by 4:30 to be over there by 6 and I just don't think I could do it. So we're planning on going the 21/22 of July up to Michigan with them to go fishing.
Has anyone here ever heard of The Pouchee? I discovered it when I was doing a google search on organizers for your purse. I was actually looking for one of those Purse-ket things, but I stumbled across these, and I think that a Pouchee would be so much easier to handle! I am always complaining about how un-organized my purse is, so I might have to give this Pouchee a try! I'll keep you posted if I do indeed end up ordering one!
I am officially OFF WORK for the next TEN days! It is going to be so nice to not have to go in to work for almost two weeks! Today was my interview, to get in on full-time/permanent status. I'm just a "leased" temporary employee right now, but today was my first interview of three. My second will probably come after shutdown. I won't be there forever, but it is a good job, and it will be something stable until I can go back to school, etc.
I have TONS of reviews to post, not sure if I'll get around to posting specific reviews for each color, etc. but I will definantly at least try to touch base as far as the companies go, and my orders. I also have a new flat top buffer I got from Lisa [MMB&B] that I have to post a review for [and it's a HUGE rave!!]. And I've also got a couple of books to review that are on topics of aromatherapy, essential oils, and a natural beauty book.
The puppy is doing so well, he squeals! It's so funny :) He also likes to lie on his back with all four paws up in the air while he sleeps, it really is funny to see! He also has his eyes open now! I came home tonight from work & noticed that. He has been sleeping in the pet bed that Precious loves to lay in, which is nice since she already loves to sleep in that thing and just lay around in it, she spends a lot of time with her pup- she's so protective of him! He crawls around a lot though, and has managed to get himself out of the bed a few times, which makes him squeal uncontrollably because it's a different feel to go from a fleece bed to a hardwood floor, but he's happy as can be once you put him back in the bed!
Hope everyone is doing well, and I promise to make some more MMU-related posts soon!
This weekend seemed to fly by! Yesterday we went to Springfield, hit up the bookstore [left with only one book off their bargain book section, which wasn't even something I went there for!] and Gamestop [boyfriend is wanting to buy a Nintendo Wii which are FLYING off the shelves here and hard to find!] then decided to go on down to Dayton to look at the game stores there for a Wii and went to B&N [again, left with nothing that I wanted!] and still didn't find any Wii's.
Afterwards we went fishing with my dad, and the boyfriend's friend who is home on a 30 day pass from the Army right now.
Got up this morning and went over to the boyfriends. We decided to go to our local WalMart to check for a Wii and a few other things. While in WalMart we decided to just go on down to Columbus to check out some stores down there for Wii's All were SOLD OUT. Go Figure! We actually missed out on some at Best Buy, they'd had 9 that morning that they got in on last night's truck for today and we missed the last one by just a few hours. After going to Best Buy we went over to the Uno Chicago Pizzeria to get something to eat. The chicken parmesan there is delicious! After that we decided to head down to German Village because I wanted to check out this book store my friend told me about. The Book Loft - Located in German Village, Columbus Ohio. THIRTY TWO rooms FILLED with books- no kidding! I ended up leaving with four books on aromatherapy, and a golf book that the boyfriend picked out [which we got for a penny! since I had a coupon that was good if you bought three paperback books you got the fourth for a penny. also had a 30% off coupon off one book so the boyfriend bought one of my aromatherapy books for me with that coupon] I could have literally spent ALL DAY in that place! They even have an online store, so if you guys are into books/reading you guys should check it out! They don't offer their in-store coupons on internet orders I don't think but they do have free shipping on orders over $25!
Only have to work four days this week since I took a vacation day for Friday, so I will have ten whole days off! Luckily I have four new books to hopefully keep me entertained, but I doubt I'll even get around to a few of them since I have a huge to-do list for shutdown. I also found out on Friday that I am going to have an interview with BelleTech on this coming Thursday at 3:00PM [ 1/2 hour before my shift starts but they said I should be out in plenty of time, but if I'm not I'll be excused from the line until I'm done ] Technically I already work at BelleTech but I'm out there through the Adecco Temp. Service. so this interview is to get in full-time w/ all the perks [insurance benefits, 401k, gainsharing checks, attendance bonuses, etc] plus a raise of $1.70 more an hour! I'm pretty excited about that because it will be a good job until I can go back to school.
I hope everyone had a good weekend!
Sorry I haven't been around updating, I promise I've been scanning through all your updates though! It's been a rather busy week for me with work & everything else. I still haven't got around to writing up all my reviews yet- but I'll get there soon! July 4th shutdown is coming up, along with the vacation day I took next Friday so I'll have ten days without WORK! so hopefully I'll get some things done over shutdown that I've been needing to do for awhile [including hopefully getting reviews posted!]
I'm hitting Barnes & Noble this weekend, I want to get a couple of books on Aromatherapy for sure, and maybe some other books too - not sure yet- any recommendations?
Have a good weekend!
Thank goodness it's FRIDAY!! I am SO ready for this week to be over. Aside from my job screwing up my check-AGAIN- for the second time in 2 weeks, it's been an okay week. My dog had her puppy this morning [yes only ONE! she's such a small dog anyway being a chihuaha so I didn't expect more than 1-2]. The puppy is soo tiny! Very cute though.
I have been busying surfing around the internet this week a bit looking up how to make my own makeup, skin care, etc. I've really gotten a lot of ideas that I've written down, alongside a few recipes I've found that I can use as a basic guideline. I really want to possibly open my own online store, especially since I think I'm going to start out selling MMU wholesale, but I think when I get to the point of making my own things to sell beyond makeup I would like to try making the following to sell:
Lavender Skin Tonic
Nail & Cuticle Nourishing Cream
Bath Oils
Repellents for Insects [need A LOT of that around here!]
Poison Ivy Remedies [also need a lot of this around here if you're not careful]
Lavender Face Cream
Massage Oils
After Sun Lotions [yep need a lot of that in the summer time here too!]
Hair Growth Oils/Hair Loss Oils [if these really work anyway, I'm going to give them a try since I have so much hair-fall and really want my hair to grow back out!]
and the list goes ON! I have so many ideas I've filled about a half of a notebook writing them all down!
what am I getting myself into?! haha.
I'm v sorry you're hurting hon. Keeping you in my thoughts and sending you a big hug. read more
